Hi there

My name is Lindsey, a 30+ visual artist from Cape Town. I speak softly, yet my smile is bold. My desk is a mess, but I like my kitchen spotless. I love marigold, cuddly blankets and urban strolls. Give me any line and I'll probably colour outside of it 😉

The more we create in love - the more it will do good things to our heart, and others. Let's have a happy little tree in here. Let's have it seen. Other trees will reach out, branches will intertwine. Leaves will form... We can breathe and smile.

Where we meet

Shape quality human interactions, through art. Be so very light. Be a gentle whisper.

My Story

As child, my brothers played sport and I doodled in my mother's bible - of course it got me into trouble!

A bonafide nerd: an affinity for books, good grades and a low social tolerance, drawing became a playground for me.

2017: Tony Gum's exhibition, Ode to she. I saw it. I was so fortunate to speak with her about it. I knew I needed to paint.

Visual language: I practiced in both digital and traditional mediums such as, acrylic, pastel and watercolour.

Art means business: Working through programmes with Creative Industries  organizations, like Business and Arts South Africa and the South African Creative Industries Incubator, I later exhibited a series of portraits with Julie Miller African Contemporary gallery.

WHY: I can create the kind of world I want; one that frees to probe the depths of our individualism, connects us to one another and one that finds the value in expression.

You can create beautiful things - but you have to see them in your mind first.

My Vision

To continue to learn and teach mindfulness through art, social connectedness and creative play. Working in the development and facilitation of expressive arts workshops and building the sustainable advancement of relationships for Business and the Arts.

My most recent collaboration was the Holidays Arts Workshop for a group of amazing teenagers from the Lavender6 organization in Cape Town.

Co-creator of Lindsey & Lutz. A paint, wine and dine social event hosted in the Plumstead suburb of Cape Town.

You have to make these big decisions. Be so very light.
